Although I have finished uni now for Christmas things haven’t seemed to have slowed down whatsoever. I have just started a new job and am absolutely loving it, on top of that I have the prep for Christmas (which don’t you worry I am not complaining about) and lots of revision to be getting on with for my January exams. Luckily I have been pretty organised this year for Christmas, if anything I have been a bit too organised and probably gone a bit overboard but hey ho, it’s only Christmas once a year. I just love the whole process of it all.
In between all the hours I’ve been working I managed to squeeze in a trip to London with my lovely friend Els. Not only did we want to get some Christmas shopping done, we wanted to go up and see all the Christmas lights and just get into that Christmas mood. I had to work during the day so after I finished we quickly set off for the train station and made our way to London, thanks to the on going train strikes it was far more complicated than it should have been but we made it, even if it meant we didn’t get home till 2am… The evening was filled with hot chocolates, beautiful lights, lots of laughter, far too much shopping and quite possibly the best burgers and cocktails from Honest Burger. If you haven’t been you must! It is my all time favourite place to get a burger.
I travel up to London 3 times a week for uni and sometimes can take the city for granted a bit. It can just end up seeming like a chore, just all a bit monotonous. It’s times like these that make me step back and realise how much I do love London, and how lucky I am to live so close to such a beautiful city. It was so nice to travel up, to just relax and enjoy being in London. Seeing London for all it’s glory, seeing the lights and getting into that Christmassy spirit! Even when life is crazy and busy you need to remember to take some time and out just enjoy yourself.
I hope you’re all just as excited as I am that Christmas is just 10 days away!
