Moving Stress

If you have never experienced the stress of moving before I envy you. They say the three most stressful things in life are death, divorce and moving. And boy are they right! Harry and I moved in together just over a year ago and it has honestly been one of the best experiences of my life, I have loved every minute of it. However, we’ve decided to be sensible and start thinking about the future. This brought us to the decision to move back home so that we can start to save.

Moving stress

I feel it’s so odd that I’ve gotten to the age where I am seriously thinking about life, the future and a mortgage! Obviously this is not happening any time soon, I am only 21 but it’s nice to be sensible and start thinking about it early. Anyone considering buying their first home will know the daunting idea of being able to save up enough to afford just the deposit. This is made so much harder when also having to pay rent. Which led us to the idea of moving back home.

Sometimes when I say we’re moving back home it has a sense of failure to it. Which this whole experience has in no way shape or form has been a failure, it instead has been an amazing year met with a sensible decision at the end of it all.

Anyways, back to the stress of moving. Let me start by saying that we had a pretty large flat with loads of storage, which at the time seemed great. But what I realised when moving was that all this extra space meant that we (mainly me) kept way more than we needed to. It was a great chance to sit down and really organise our stuff. I have recently learnt the importance of being a lot more selective with what I own. I am now living with the constant thought of do I really need to keep this?

As I’ve mentioned in past post I have recently had a few issues with a mini op I had, this meant I couldn’t do any heavy lifting which made things 10 times harder not just for me but for Harry. But after many days of organising, packing and cleaning we are finally done. It honestly felt like it might take a lifetime at certain points.

We are finally starting to feel settled now and things are starting to find there place. I am so close with my family so it really is nice being at home surrounded by everyone that I love. And here’s to the future!
